Piedmont Heart Institute announces new Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Services

Atlanta, Ga.
(August 21, 2012) – Piedmont Heart Institute welcomes Charles B. Ross, M.D., who is board-certified in vascular surgery, as the new chief of vascular and endovascular services.

“Dr. Ross has a reputation for being committed to finding the best solution for each individual patient to ensure long-term success – a reputation Piedmont Heart shares,” said Sidney Kirschner, president and CEO of Piedmont Heart Institute. “Combined with his experience and expertise, Dr. Ross’ vision for growing our already well-established Vascular Center of Excellence makes him a great addition to our team.”

Prior to joining Piedmont Heart Institute, Dr. Ross served as an associate professor of surgery and chief of the vascular surgery and endovascular division within the School of Medicine at the University of Louisville. He was also on staff at Norton Hospital and Jewish Hospital, both located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Ross earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College Of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Vanderbilt University and then went on to complete a vascular surgery fellowship at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Currently, Dr. Ross is a Fellow of the American Heart Association (Stroke Council) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery and the Society for Vascular Surgery.

Effective September 1, Dr. Ross will be available at Piedmont Heart Institute in Buckhead Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. He is accepting new patients and most major insurance plans. To schedule an appointment, call 678-904-7750.
