John McBroom, MD received fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. During that time he also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Cancer Institute in Rockville, MD. Dr. McBroom earned his bachelor's degree in biology at Georgia Southwestern University, attended medical school at Medical College of Georgia, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. Dr. McBroom is board certified in gynecologic oncology and general obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. McBroom is one of a few gynecologic oncologists nationwide with experience in performing heated intraperitoneal chemoperfusion (HIPEC) in ovarian carcinoma. He performed the first laparoscopic HIPEC procedure for ovarian cancer in the state of Georgia, and recently performed the first reported case of robotic HIPEC procedure for ovarian cancer. He has performed over 400 robotic surgeries for gynecological malignancies. Dr. McBroom has published over 15 articles in peer reviewed medical journals, and has presented his research at national and international meetings.
Dr. McBroom is an avid triathlete and has competed in Ironman events in Australia and Florida. Dr. McBroom is accepting new patients and most insurance providers.
